I love winter. This is temporary you see, I will hate it once again in november. Clothes are pretty much why; coats, hats, scarves. Ahh, yes. So classy, so elegant. Black suede heels, christmas dresses and parties. Champagne, new year eve and smoky eyes.

Wrote this freshman year, first page of chapter 2.

As I arrive to my new boarding school, I get weird glances from snotty-looking kids. I’m wearing plain jeans and a shirt from my old school, they didn’t seem to like that. Considering all the girls had designer clothes, it didn’t surprise me. I walked into my dorm, where I found my new redheaded roommate. “Hey, I’m Scarlett” I said, asking for her name in return. “Chelsea” she whispered, then quickly returned to her studies. Didn’t seem like she was going to be the type to have to quiet down, nether-less have a conversation with. Judging by her pretty face, my first thought was that she was a really social girl.

I place my bags in the comfortable-looking bed. “Fancy” I think to myself. As I organize my clothes in the drawers I attempt to start another conversation with redhead, in which I failed. Tonight was going to be a long night, considering my nerves wouldn’t let me forget I had school the very next day.

“Shit!”” I screamed, looking at the alarm, which i miserably failed to set at night. Readhead wasn’t nice enough to wake me up. 7:55 a.m. I had 5 minutes to get to class. What a great way to start the year.

Desperately, I shoved everyone out of my way, looking for my first period, biology. “Late” the old-looking teacher blankly said at me. “We don’t accept tardiness in the this academy Ms. Johnson . I believe you are new to our facilities, though that is not an excuse.” Trying my hardest not to make a face, I sat down to the seat the teacher pointed at.

Noticing the really cute guy next to me I guessed my luck was changing, and smiled to myself.

Houston was great this thanksgiving weekend.

Maria and I walked up and down pointlessly in the streets, stopping for Starbucks and then continuing our shameless-yes-I-do-in-fact-don’t-own-a-car-walk towards Post Oak.

The Hilton seemed to be purposely concocted to be a complete no kids our age zone. No, this in fact did not make me spend more time with my family like I should have, but just caused us to walk around aimlessly in the hope of finding people to talk to.The festival/concert/parade thing outside was filled with stands and people singing and fake snow. Maria felt it lacked the actual “feeling” of Christmas, being in Texas weather was fall-like not wintry like it should have been. This was Thanksgiving though, so fall weather was acceptable to me.

The next day we traveled about an hour and a half out of Houston to Magnolia,Tx were the Renaissance Fair was held. This is considered even by me to be extremely nerdy and lame, though I admit I had a really good time. I threw tomatoes, shot arrows, and had a dance lesson along with Maria. Of course, being Thanksgiving weekend, eating totally unnecessary amounts of food is a must.

I loved this trip! <3
